    BABA Branded T-Shirt Launching.

We are pleased to report that we had a productive evening on Friday April 19, 2024, managing to hold two meetings at short notice. We had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with community leaders and successfully launched our BABA branded T-shirt.

During the first meeting, we discussed our upcoming Bangladesh Parade with community leaders. Then, in the second meeting, our President, Mohammed A Rahman (GRVC), officially took over his role from our acting president, Mohammed Rahman (SOD). As you may know, President Rahman has safely returned from Umrah Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Our trustees, board members, and general members were all in attendance. We used this time to discuss important issues such as job safety in our jail system, strategies for de-escalating unusual situations, improving attendance in our daily work, and fostering relationships with fellow officers and executives. We appreciate the members who expressed their opinions spontaneously.

We all agreed to expand our Board of Trustees. Md Mizanur Rahman ( Investigation Division ) will play a role as a Board Of Trustees. Congratulations to him.

After the meeting, we distributed T-shirts among the members and enjoyed a communal dinner. BABA President expressed his gratitude to his board members, trustees, and all members.

Support the Kids of Hafiz & and Shathe family

Help Support the Kids of Hafiz Ahmed and Shathe Ahmed Family

    Dear Community Members,

We are all deeply saddened by the tragic deaths of Hafiz Ahmed and his wife Shathe Ahmed in a car accident on Friday night. This devastating incident has left our Bengali American community in shock and mourning. Hafiz and Shathe were not only a loving couple but also actively involved in various aspects of our community. Their loss is immeasurable, and we can never fill the void left by their absence.

However, amidst this tragedy, we must come together to support their children and honor the dreams they had for their family. Hafiz and Shathe had recently purchased a larger house to provide a better living space for their special needs baby girl. They made this decision because they wanted to ensure the best accommodation and care for their beloved daughter.

Unfortunately, due to the unforeseen circumstances, they were unable to afford the mortgage payments for their new home. Now, there is a risk of losing the house that meant so much to them. We cannot let this happen. We have the power to save their home and secure a future for their children.

In addition to the financial burden, the baby girl who was also in the vehicle during the accident is currently hospitalized, fighting for her life. She has undergone several surgeries and is in critical condition. Our support and assistance can make a significant difference in her recovery and the overall well-being of the family.

We have spoken with the only family members they have, who have expressed their deep gratitude for any support and attention we can provide. Let us rally together as a community and show our compassion and solidarity during this difficult time.

We humbly request your generous contributions to a GoFundMe campaign that has been set up to help support the kids of Hafiz Ahmed and Shathe Ahmed family. Your donations will go directly towards medical expenses for the baby girl’s treatment, as well as ensuring that their home is not taken away by mortgage companies.

No amount is too small, and every contribution will make a difference. Together, we can ease the burden on this grieving family and provide them with the support they desperately need. Let us show them that they are not alone in their sorrow.

Please share this campaign with your friends, family, and colleagues to maximize our impact and reach as many people as possible. Your kindness and generosity will forever be remembered.

May Allah bless the soul of Hafiz Ahmed and Shathe Ahmed, and may He grant strength and healing to their children.

Thank you for your compassion and support.

    Sincerely,

  • Victory Day

    16 Dec 2023

Dear members of the Bengali American Boldest Association (BABA),

I hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits. Today, I would like to bring your attention to a significant event that holds great importance for the people of Bangladesh – Victory Day.

Victory Day, also known as Bijôy Dibôsh, is a national holiday celebrated on 16 December each year. It serves as a commemoration of the remarkable defeat of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, leading to the independence of Bangladesh. This day holds immense significance as it marks the end of a nine-month-long struggle for freedom and the official secession of East Pakistan to become the new state of Bangladesh.

On this day, we remember the brave soldiers of the Mukti Bahini and their Indian allies, who fought tirelessly to secure the liberation of Bangladesh. It was their unwavering determination and sacrifice that ultimately led to the Pakistani Instrument of Surrender. General AAK Niazi, the commander of the Pakistani Forces, surrendered to the Mukti Bahini and their Indian allies, signifying the end of the Bangladesh Liberation War and the 1971 Bangladesh genocide.

The fight for independence is a battle that resonates deeply within the hearts of every nation’s people. It is a struggle that demands courage, resilience, and unwavering belief in the pursuit of freedom. Today, we pay tribute to the brave army and people of Bangladesh who fought valiantly for their independence.

As members of the Bengali American Boldest Association, let us take a moment to reflect on the significance of this day and honor the sacrifices made by our fellow countrymen. Let us remember the spirit of unity and determination that led to the birth of a new nation.

On behalf of BABA, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those who fought for the independence of Bangladesh. Your bravery and sacrifice will forever be etched in the annals of history.

Wishing you all a meaningful Victory Day.

    Warm regards,

    Mohammed Rahman

    President

General Secretary, Bengali American Boldest Association (BABA)

    Dear members and supporters,

I am honored to serve as the General Secretary of the Bengali American Boldest Association (BABA). I wanted to take a moment to share some exciting news with you all.

In recent years, we have witnessed a significant increase in the number of Bengali-speaking officers, civilian employees, doctors, nurses, and IT professionals in the NYC Department of Corrections. This growth is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our community members.

Bengali-speaking individuals, also known as Bengali nationals, play a vital role in our society. Bengali is not only the official language of Bangladesh but also the international mother language of Southeast Asia. It is spoken by millions of people in the Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura, and the Barak valley region of Assam.

Recognizing the importance of fostering a sense of unity and support among Bengali-speaking officers and civilians, we have come together to form the Bengali American Boldest Association. Our association is committed to empowering, supporting, educating, and developing its members while fostering geniality and communication within the community.

As the General Secretary, I am incredibly proud of the work we have accomplished so far. Our members are dedicated, knowledgeable, and always willing to lend a helping hand to their respective communities. By joining our organization, you will have the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of individuals who share common interests and goals.

I encourage each and every one of you to become a part of this rapidly growing organization. Together, we can make a difference and create a stronger, more vibrant community. Join us today and experience the benefits of being a member of the Bengali American Boldest Association.

Thank you for your continued support.
